Final Write-Up

Overall Write-up
I have now finished visiting primary schools in bath in relation to the PE Olympic Values. Our last school was ‘Oldfield park’, its was the best school I have coached throughout the whole scheme, I was really pleased with the children on that day, well behaved and all participated in the courses set-up. Once again they all understood and shown ‘inspiration’ on that day; it was magnificent.
I felt like I achieved my goal  set last time which was be louder and explain the course more clearly to the children.
Overall ,   I really enjoyed myself through the whole festival and earned a great amount of skill as being a head coach , especially my confidence , I can run a circuit and not get nervous or occur any faults which I am happy with.
I’d like to do this again sometime later in the sixth form year; it was a fantastic experience, a smashing time!

My Coaching Review From Alfie Banks

Alfie Banks Review For Me ( Reuben caven )

St Phillips Primary School

My task was to observe Reuben Caven as this session he took the leading role of coaching our 'Insperation.' I think he did really well presenting the topic and the meaning of it, also he was friendly with the children and shown a great deal of standards as a coaching leader. Well done Reuben.

Things I think he could improve next time is...

- When communicating with the children increase your volume.
- Explain the instructions more clearly.
- Work out a plan when specific children do not want to participate in the session. (meaning encourage their friends)

Personal Evaluation

My Own Evaluation:

Today I was taking on the role as a head coach for St. Phillips Primary School; this was part of our unit 23. It included handling with great responsibilities and certain skills, such as communication. Not only did I take on the head coach role but I had Alfie Banks assessing my coaching abilities. Also to include I had to teach the children what ‘Inspiration ‘means as it is part of our Pe Olympic Value festival objectives.
To be honest, I think I done pretty well at the head coach role as I felt confident when teaching the children, I explained the tasks carefully and making sure the children wasn’t at a health & safety risk.
Things that went well
Personally what I think went great was:
ü  Communication skills – Explaining how the tasks work, what I am looking for.
ü  Teaching- All the children understood clearly what they had to do and what the term ‘inspiration’ means.
ü  Confidence- my confidence went well , I didn’t struggle at any point in the festival , handle everything smoothly
ü  No faults- Nothing went to disaster whilst doing the festival, none of the children were miss behaving which was fantastic!

All these points above show that I have successfully accomplished the role of being a head coach.
But there are still other things I can improve on such as:
Ø  Louder communication- my voice wasn’t quite, but it wasn’t loud enough, I need to be a louder motivator.
Ø  Sort children in to groups quicker

Overall, the day went great, I really enjoyed myself; all the children have had fun and enjoyed my course. It was a smashing day!

Report On Alfie Banks
Today I had to observe Alfie Banks on how well he done in his coaching roles. The reason I had to observe him was because our sport diploma group had to take on a challenge to see how well we do when coaching by ourselves. The Olympic Value today was Inspiration.
Below is my report for Alfie Banks:
Hi Alfie, outstanding job today at St.Michels School you really took on the responsibilities quite well and accomplished great amounts of skills. You got on with the task straight away and every single pupil had good fun and left the station with joy and laughter.
The things which went great were:
·         Your communication skills ( Spoke to the children in a relaxed way so that they understand what is going on)
·         Your confidence was amazing as you didn’t struggle on anything and you handled everything well
·         Facial expression were good as you didn’t get angry or lose your temper with the children
·          Had precise Connection to the Olympic value ( inspiration )
·         Course was set up efficiently

The things you could improve on are:

·         More excitement when communicating to children

Overall Alfie, you done really well at St.Michels, no faults occurred which is remarkable. Just read the improve section are think what you need to do next time. In conclusion a fantastic session, you gained a variety of skills.
